Creating Space for Gratitude
Recently, I set out to make room in the garage for a recent purchase. Clearing the garage seemed easy enough until I opened the door and turned on the lights. The space was filled with pieces of furniture that we were no longer using, items that I cannot identify what they used to be or connect to, unopened boxes from our recent consolidation of two lives and households. I realized that this was not your run of the mill “Honey-do” task; this was an opportunity to demonstrate the Law of Circulation in my life rather than play a life-sized game of Tetris. In November, we will begin to explore what it means to create and become a space for gratitude in an unfinished world. If you think there may be room in your heart, mind, body, and soul for even a little bit of gratitude, you won’t want to miss a single moment of the journey.
Sunday, November 1 ~ Boundless Generosity
Gratitude brings down the walls of isolation and allows us to experience a deeper, more prosperous life. It takes scraps, remnants, pieces, and parts of this, creating a bounty of abundance. It turns the unseen into the unforgettable, the invisible into the embraceable, the confined into the free indeed, the lost into the beloved. It quietly reimagines crumbs and leftovers as a feast, stirs the saddened into the ecstatic, and shakes the soundly sleeping into the wide awake. Gratitude makes sense of our longings, connects the dots enough to remind us of the strength in possibility, brings us peace with each breath, and creates a vision for all our tomorrows. Gratitude turns absolutely nothing into our everything!
